11. "Thank You"
The beacon lights
on the road to my success
are shining because of you
They call me a writer, a poet now
I remember those days
of fear and frustration
when I
failed and fumbled to find words
You had the magical key
To open the doors of my mind
To nurture the soil within
To pour in the rays of light
and showers of rain
to take care of the
tender saplings within
With the genuine love
of the Eternal Maker..!!
A sense of confidence
embedded itself forcefully
into my reticent demeanor
I grew wings and changed
Into a strong-willed one
to soar higher and higher..
Before each leap into the skies
I whisper a solemn 'thank you'
to you, my English teacher…!!
12. Her Last Home…
(dedicated to all those mothers who are
left unloved and uncared for…)
The memory of the sweetness of her breast milk,
The cherished lullaby sung in your baby ears,
Short lived and vanished from your blocked muted adult brain
certainly not a congenital, God -made defect,
but a willingly developed deformity of a prevalent kind…
Before your birth,
The idea of motherhood in her heart was like a mirror
A reflection of purity and pristine emotion..
The aftermath of
your growth into a megalomaniac monster,
seeped in self-love and narcissistic pleasure
shattered the truism of love into a myth ..
With an all-consuming pride galloping in your blood
You turned her dream into a crumbling wall of ashes
to litter the earth she stood on..to turn it arid
with hopelessness, helplessness and lovelessness
She made her womb your first home
You turned out to be a heartless home wrecker…
Thrown in an uncaring old-age home,
She is still caught in love's spinning circle
Weaving dreams of your rosy future..
With you tied to her heart's apron strings
She is,a mother…..
Blessing you to live long…!
