Ms P. Nagasuseela, Lecturer in English, J.K.C.College, Guntur, A.P., presented papers at many National and International Conferences, Seminars and Workshops. Several of her articles have been published. She has contributed lessons in Research Methodology, Literature and Language to the distance education study material, ANU. In collaboration with Mr P.Gopichand, she organized two Workshops on CLT techniques for English Lecturers working in colleges in and around Guntur. She designed Certificate courses in Spoken English, delivered guest lectures, organized Seminars and Workshops on Yoga & Personality Development for college students. She guides scholars for their M.Phil degrees.
81. The Mind's Chamber
In our mind's chamber
Are bits of memories,
Bitter and sweet,
Scattered here and there;
When others stare,
We fear they may comment ill
On the untidy chamber.
With feigned smiles and trivial talk
We sweep the scattered memories
In the chamber
Into its dark corners.
In course of time
The dark corners are filled
With heaps of broken images,
And sordid and sad things;
In moments of silence,
Under gush of emotions, they
Spread in our mind's chamber
From corner to corner.
Again and again happens this;
At times we fear
Those close to us
May guess our secret
And think ill of us.
At last we realize
We can't keep
The mind's chamber
Neat and tidy;
We can't keep secret
The chaos of the mind;
So we cease to pretend
And hide our mind's plight;
We lay bare our mind;
Comments we don't mind.
82. My Voyage
In my life on earth
I've to cope with many things,
No one comes to share my sorrows;
I share others' woes
And help them in their needs:
I'm ever beside them
And also console them
When they are besieged
With fears and sorrows.
I try to give
Some help and care
And support and strength
To my near and dear.
But I expect
Nothing in return from them.
My life is a voyage
Fraught with experiences,
Though bitter;
I've to pass through them
And strive incessantly
All through this voyage
To reach the Shore Beyond.
